The 28th session of the Kalamazoo Annual Singing met at the Kalamazoo Nature Center on July 19, 2026. The class was called to order by Bess Fitzgerald leading 171. John Fink opened in prayer, and led 38b. Martha Beverly further welcomed singers, and led 283. Leaders: Becca Harrington 64; Samuel Sommers 544; Gillian Inksetter 516; Marjorie Harrington 275t; Jan May 469; Cecelia Kramer 157; Bridge Hill Kennedy 70b; Shannon Tibbs and Martha Beverly 86; Mark Clague, a professor at the University of Michigan, introduced his summer class, and invited 11 of his students to lead with assistance. Student Linden de Leeuw and Samuel Sommers 47b; Maria Schoon and Bess Fitzgerald 47t.
RECESS
Bess Fitzgerald and Beth Todd led 32t to bring the class together. The afternoon session began with Marjorie Harrington leading 40. Becca Harrington led 335 as we took a collection. Further leaders: Carolyn Deacy 212; Marian Mitchell 528; Matthew Lind 145b; Terry Cunningham 192; Maygan Barker and Will Fitzgerald with Caleb Alman 213t; Bess Fitzgerald and Will Fitzgerald with the Pfund family: John Pfund, Katie Pfund, Jack Pfund, Zeke Pfund and Charlotte Pfund. Reports: expenses were met; 79 different singers led 71 songs. They represented 11 U.S. states and one Canadian province. Thanks were extended to the officers, kitchen staff, and the staff at the Kalamazoo Nature Center. Announcements were made. Bess Fitzgerald and Maygan Barker led 62 as the closing song. John Fink offered the closing prayer, and the class was dismissed.
